so i actually went to melbourne back in november, but better late than never! i'm really slack with getting film developed but one of these rolls (there are photos from two) was developed by hand! a friend gave me a lesson and has also encouraged me to try making the change to black and white. i've got a couple of black & white rolls ready to develop now and if i like how they turn out i might stick with it instead of colour and start home developing (b&w is a lot easier to develop on your own), which would hopefully mean it won't take me weeks or months to develop my film like it currently does.
anyway, tahlia and i went to melbourne in november to visit elly and her boyfriend peter for elly's birthday. peter had also become the father of the world's cutest cat (monkey) since i last visited so i was super excited to meet her! apart from hanging out with monkey we went to a $5 vintage sale in a warehouse (oh boy), bought adriano zumbo macaons and stared at their weird chairs that look like melting ice cream, went to the spectacle exhibition at ACMI, drew pictures at crafternoon (a craft themed cafe with paper and pencils and crayons on the tables), and ate basically everything in the whole of melbourne. the highlight being peter's vegan oero-filled beard cake that he made for elly's birthday and it was even more glorious than it sounds. beards and baked goods are two of my favourite things in life.
