July: In My Secret Life

More news from Toronto! So much has been happening lately but we've finally settled in to our new place and are slowly sorting out some finishing touches. I might do some sort of apartment tour in the future if that sounds interesting to you guys? We also squeezed in a trip to Niagara Falls which was awesome. We're hoping to do lots of travelling while we're here but we figured our priority should be getting settled in before we worry about where else we want to go just yet.

Not Your Typical Hen's Night

a few weeks ago one of my best friends in the whole world got married! i do have photos of the wedding for future posts but for now here are some photos from the hen's night which was a few weeks before that. the bridal party was only the three of us - hannah (the bride), her sister prue and me, but their mum joined us for the afternoon as well. being the maid of honour i booked us a beautiful high tea at the victoria room which is not to be confused with the high tea at the queen victoria building's tea room, although that's really easy to do as they have basically the same name. i've had high tea at both tea rooms and they're both lovely, though at the victoria room you get to choose your own flavour from their dedicated scone menu. i went with cranberry, lemon and pistachio and it was delicious!

Christmas!

unfortunately i have to start this post by saying that i had my hedgehog mr. pricklepants put down on boxing day. he was the sweetest little thing and it broke my heart to say goodbye to him but he was so sick i know it was the right thing to do. my dad and i buried him in the backyard at our beach house at north avoca where we spent christmas this year.

Holga

just a few photos from a roll of film i had developed recently. you might notice an interesting light leak pattern across several of them, which indicates that my camera is probably broken. i think the rattle made by piece that has snapped off and is residing somewhere behind the lens is also a pretty good clue. i think it's time i bought a new one.

"Summer"

i managed to get a roll of film from my holga developed today. it's super cheap now that all i have to pay for is developing and i can just scan the negatives myself! these are some photos from homebake festival in december and a few more i have taken at different times since then. i'm going to finally start playing with 120mm film now that, again, i'll only have to pay to have it developed and i won't be looking at $25+ a roll. exciting times ahead. i just need it to stop raining so i can go out and do something (other than work)!
